Earnest Tesmer Obituary

The funeral service for Ernest Tesmer will be Monday, April 24, at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Rock Lutheran Church in Rochester, with Pastor Jeff Limpert officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester following the service.
    Mr. Tesmer, 91, of Wabasha, and formerly of Millville, Lake City, and Rochester, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha.
    Ernest was born June 15, 1925 in Millville, to Ernest and Louisa (Krueger) Tesmer.  He grew up in the Millville area and attended rural Wabasha County Schools.  On March 6, 1949 he married Marjorie DeVries at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester.
    Ernest farmed in rural Millville until 1998 and then moved to Rochester.  He enjoyed going snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and riding his golf cart.  Most of all Ernest enjoyed just spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He was a member of Christ Our Rock Lutheran Church in Rochester.
    He is survived by his children, Sharon Copeman of Rochester and Dwight (Nancy) Tesmer of Millville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda (Richard) Ottoson of Red Wing; and four brothers, Allen Tesmer of Lime Springs, Iowa, Lawrence “Larry” Tesmer of Plainview, his twin brother, Edward (Lorraine) Tesmer of Millville, and Louis (Dolores) Tesmer of Zumbro Falls.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, one daughter, one grandson, one son-in-law, one sister, and four brothers.
    Friends and family may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church.
