Edward Doherty Sr. Obituary

Edward Doherty, Sr., 73, of Lake City passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at home.
    He was born on Aug. 26, 1943 to John and Alexandra (Jasnciewski) Doherty in Chelsea, Mass.
    Edward enlisted in the Air Force in 1967, and served until 1969. On Dec. 27, 1997 Ed married Joan (Champion) Wright at South Troy Church. Edward worked as a security guard at Treasure Island for more than 13 years.
    Edward is survived by his wife, Joan Doherty of Lake City; children, Edward (Nicole) Doherty, Jr. of Diamond Bluff, Wis. and Kathy Doherty of Red Wing; stepchildren, Rusty (Tammy) Baier of Stewartville, Dawn (Ron) Hendershot of Ellsworth, Wis., Greg Wright of Rochester, Lori Wright of Lake City, Cheryl (Neil) Brogger of Sogn Valley, Minn. and Susan (Roger) Seeger of Hastings; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Doherty of Chelsea, Mass. and Kathern Scala of Woburn, Mass. He was preceded in death by a step granddaughter and his parents.
    Celebration of Life will be Sunday, May 21, at the Red Men Club in Red Wing from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Burial will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are with Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City.  Online condolences can be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
