Elenore Krohn Obituary

Funeral services for Elenore Krohn will be held Monday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Rock Lutheran Church, 3040 Stonehenge Dr. NE in Rochester.  The Rev. Jeff Limpert will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Cemetery in Lake City.  Mrs. Krohn, 94, of Rochester, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Cottagewood in Rochester, where she had resided the past few years.
    Elenore Alwina Stolt was born Oct. 19, 1922 in New Ulm, Minn. to Ernest and Olga (Bussmann) Stolt.  She graduated from Nicollet High School in 1940 and then attended Mankato Commercial College.  She married Fred E. Krohn on May 23, 1943.  They farmed near Nicollet for 27 years.  In 1970, they moved to Lake City and owned and operated a motel for seven years.  She then worked at City Hall in Lake City for 13 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Christ Our Rock Lutheran Church in Rochester.  She and her husband enjoyed traveling and their family.  Elenore was a talented seamstress, cook, and cake decorator.
    Survivors include her two sons, Bruce of Blaine, Minn. and Bradley (Linda) of Eagan, Minn.; two daughters, Melanie Odim of Rochester and Amy (David) Hayes of Hickory, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence (James) Blanshan of Owatonna; and a brother, Roger (Ellie) Stolt of Campbellsport, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, who passed away in 1999, her daughter, Constance (Jim) Burow (April 2016), and three brothers, Eldon (died in infancy), Vernon and Loren Stolt.
