Ervin Blattner Obituary
Ervin W. Blattner, 85, of Lake City, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.
He was born Aug. 30, 1931 to Andrew and Lillie (Quell) Blattner in Lake City. Ervin grew up in Lake City. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He farmed in the Lake City and Red Wing areas. He then worked at Conwed in Red Wing for 20 years, and also worked at Riteway in Lakeville, Minn., and he retired in 2006. He enjoyed watching sports and gardening and spending time with his family.
Ervin is survived by his daughters, Cherri (Rick) of Lake City, Evonne Lehnartz of Red Wing, Ann Blattner of Duluth and Barbara (Ron) Moyer of Mondovi, Wis.; three sons, Dennis Blattner, Daniel Blattner and Barry Blattner, all of Red Wing; eight grandchildren, Dennis, Dillon, Nicole, Travis, Sarah, Mike, Nate, and Matt; two great-grandchildren, Meshley and Lilah; sister, Jeanette (Don) Keyser of Red Wing, brothers, Marvin (Eloise) Blattner of Lake City, Merlyn Blattner and Melvin (Pat) Blattner. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Janice Blattner and Joanne Befort; one granddaughter, Deedra; one grandson, Nicholas; and his parents.
Funeral service will be Thursday, March 16, at 11 a.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Rev. Daniel Reich officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors will be handled by VFW Post 8729 and American Legion Post 110 of Lake City.
