Gary Loewenhagen Obituary

Gary D. Loewenhagen, 57, of Alma, Wis., passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing.
    He was born May 3, 1959 in Wabasha to Martin L. and Delores (Gleiter) Loewenhagen. Gary attended Alma Area Schools, graduating with the Alma High School Class of 1977.  He furthered his education at what is now known as CVTC with an associate degree in welding.    In 1996 Gary was married to Linda Stewart, a marriage that gave them one son, Steven.
    Gary was employed at various companies with his last employer being Federal-Mogul in Lake City where he devoted approximately 35 years. He was a former member of the Alma Rod and Gun Club.  Before his health began to deteriorate with the presence of cancer, Gary enjoyed a good hunt and was well known for his abilities of deer processing and some of the best venison sausage around.  Gary will be long remembered for his love of cooking as was known as the Loewenhagen’s “family chef” at all their get-togethers.  He was also an avid fan of all the sports teams that Wisconsin had to offer —Packers, Brewers and Badgers.  His greatest love was for his wife, son and the rest of his family.
    Gary will be sadly missed by his wife, Linda and their son, Steven of Alma; parents, Martin and Delores Loewenhagen of Alma; siblings, Deb (Warren) Seifert of Pepin, Dean Loewenhagen of Alma and Lori Duren of Red Wing; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from both near and far.
    A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel.  A private service for family will be held at a later date.
