Helen Granvold obituary

On Dec. 16, 2020, God gained another angel. Helen (Beckmann) Granvold, age 71, of Mandan, N.D., went to be with the Lord.
Helen (Beckmann) Granvold was third oldest of seven children, born in Pender, Neb.  She later moved to Zumbro Falls, Minn. and then graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City, Minn..
She is survived by her three daughters, Tami Kunz (Tim) of Bismarck, N.D., Cheryl Holland (Ward) of Weyburn, Canada, Debbie Glass (Darin) of Mandan, N.D.; her sisters and brothers, Eileen Kabage, Linda Hofschulte (Marvin), Laura Roles (Jerry), Raymond Beckmann (Cita), and Kenny Beckmann (Linda); five grandchildren Daniel, Megan, Ryan, Nathan, and Kyle; her three great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Elaine Beckmann and her brother Leroy Beckmann.  Her family and extended family meant the world to her.
Some of her favorite pasttimes included going for walks on a warm sunny day, playing endless hours of cards, watching movies, Diet Coke, and watching football.  She had such a zest for living life, a terrific sense of humor and touched so many lives.  In her last days, we heard wonderful tributes from friends and caregivers, including that she was a “strong independent woman full of spunk, sass, and fire”; “had no filter”; “one of a kind”.  She had a huge love for her family.  She was truly one of a kind who will be greatly missed.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.eastgatefuneral.com.
