Janet Moe obituary

Janet Dansingburg Moe, 92, of Lake City, Minnesota passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025.
She was born April 15, 1933, in Rochester, Minnesota to Gertrude (Boothby) and Hayes Dansingburg. Janet met the love of her life Clint Moe at Rochester High School, graduating in 1951. After graduation, Janet attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and Rochester Junior College where she obtained a two-year degree.
She married Clint on December 13, 1952, in El Paso, Texas where he was stationed in the US Army. When Clint received orders to serve in the Korean War, Janet returned to Rochester and worked at the Herman Agency. After Clint’s discharge, they moved to St. Paul where she worked at the Traveler’s Insurance Company while Clint received his teaching degree at Hamline University.
Janet moved to Lake City, Minnesota in 1957 where Clint began his professional career as a teacher, coach and athletic director. They welcomed their sons Scott in 1957 and Kent in 1960.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and doing volunteer work as a school room mother, PTA secretary and scout leader. Janet also served as the Woman’s President of the Lake City Country Club, was a member of the Lake City Hospital Board, and helped with the annual community cancer drive. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church for 68 years and assisted with the quilting committee and decorating the church at Christmas.
Janet enjoyed golfing, camping with the family, watching her sons play various sports and the ever-changing view of Lake Pepin from her porch. She was an avid gardener, and her yard was the envy of Lake City for decades. Janet was also well known for her love of decorating her home for every season.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clint, and her brother Richard Dansingburg. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Carrie) Moe of Bloomington, and Kent (Renee) Moe of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Blake (Kayla) Smith of Green Bay, Wis., Macall (Christian) Phillips of Minnetonka, Minn., Shelby Moe of Phoenix, Ariz., Clint and Clare Moe of Bloomington, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Lewis, Landy and Scarlett; sister-in-law, Donna Bologna; and seven nieces.
A small family service will be held on Thursday, July 24, with a Celebration of Life Gathering to be held for family and friends beginning at 6 p.m. at the family home in Lake City at 105 Pepin Street.
The family prefers memorial donations to the Lake City Food Shelf; lakecityfoodshelf.org instead of flowers.
Arrangements by Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel.  Guest register may be signed at www.schleicherfuneralhomes.com.
