Judith "Judy" Casey Obituary

The memorial service for Judith “Judy” A. Casey will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel in Lake City with Fr. Joseph P. Pete officiating, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Theilman.  A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Theilman Opera House in Theilman following the burial.
    Judy passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Golden Living Center East in Rochester.  
    Judith Ann Eggenberger was born on Jan. 13, 1943 in St. Paul, to Floyd and Lorraine (Schwirtz) Eggenberger. She graduated from Lincoln High School, where she was very active in chorus, art club, and was a cheerleader, she also loved to ice skate and was an Ice Skating Queen.  Judy spent her lifetime in Lake City.
    Judy enjoyed sewing and quilting, gardening and canning her garden produce.  She was an excellent baker and cook, and loved to bake and decorate cakes.  She was a Minnesota Vikings fan and a die-hard Brett Favre fan.
    Judy is survived by her children, Shannon T. Casey of Lake City, Michelle Casey of Rochester, Shaun (Shannon) Casey of Grand Marais, and Padriac “Pad” (Heather Beck) Casey of Goodhue; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Janice (Bob) Anderson of Minneapolis, Lavonne Eggenberger of Minnetonka, Debra (Brian) Michlitsch of Minneapolis, and Mary (Dean) Schumacher of Lake City; three brothers, Gerald (Donna) Eggenberger of Lake City, Randal “Randy” (Sue) Eggenberger of Lake City, and Robert (Linda) Schwirtz of Bloomington; an aunt, Cecelia Giesler of Wabasha; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Johan.
