Kathleen Weaver obituary
Kathleen “Kathy” Patti Weaver, age 84, of Virginia, Minn., passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Duluth, Minn.
Kathy was born on July 30, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Howard and Beatrice Burns. She grew up with a deep love of the outdoors and an appreciation for family and the simple joys of life that carried through her many years.
Kathy was united in marriage to Roger Weaver, August 11, 1962. They explored Europe during his military service and later lived in Onsted, Mich., Bettendorf/Davenport, Iowa, Lake City and Virginia, Minn., and created their special home on the Pike River in Tower, Minn. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
She is survived by her children Jeff (Janet) Weaver, Dan (Amy) Weaver, and Greg (Annie) Weaver; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her brother Tim (Nancy) Burns, and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and “Rog,” her beloved husbandof 60 years.
Those who knew Kathy will remember her as a loving wife, devoted mother, and gentle soul. She found great joy in spending time outdoors—skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, and tending her garden. An avid reader, photographer and talented watercolor painter, Kathy’s creativity and curiosity were lifelong companions.
A Celebration of Life will at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 231 3rd Street, Virginia, Minn. 55792. A luncheon gathering will follow the service.
The family asks that memorial gifts or donations be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Virginia, Minn., in Kathy’s memory.
