Kathryn Redmond obituary

Kathryn Redmond, age 106 of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 in Lake City.
Kathryn was born Oct. 11, 1914 in Lake City to Joseph and Julia (Simons) Wise. She attended and graduated from St. Mary of the Lake High School in Lake City and St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul. Kathryn married William (Bill) Redmond June 11, 1940 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City. After they were married, they made their home in Lake City. Bill owned and operated Redmond Motors in Lake City.  
Kathryn had a life filled with family, friends and fun. Her entire life was spent living in her beloved Lake City. She had many wonderful memories, including bridge, she would later become a master bridge player, boating on Lake Pepin and dancing at The Terrace. Some of her favorite moments were working in her yard with her beloved dog Chico at her side.
She lived a long life; a full life and we were all blessed to have her in our lives. Kathryn is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Jack) Reese of Greenville, S.C.; three sons, Jim of Houston, Texas, John of Lake City, Joe (Kymberly) of Dallas, Texas; four grandsons; two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William and a brother George Wise.
A private family service was held at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Matt Fasnacht officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lake City.
