Linden Iverson obituary

Linden Darrell (Sonny/Ike) Iverson of Lake City, Minn., age 90, passed peacefully on August 21, 2022 with his loving wife of 64 years  at his side. He was born August 27, 1931 in East St. Louis, Ill.
Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Veteran of the Army during the Korean conflict. He loved his family with all his heart (especially little babies).
A house painter by trade, he endured many ups and downs but always found a way to provide for his family. Working in the private sector for many years, he eventually found his place working at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis until his retirement in 1994. Linden and Carol then settled in Lake City, a few blocks from beautiful Lake Pepin. An avid Oldsmobile enthusiast, he belonged to numerous Oldsmobile clubs and had many friends throughout the hobby. After losing his beloved 1960 Olds 88 in a garage fire at age 79, he set out to restore a 1970 Olds Cutlass Rallye 350. It was completed a few years later with help from his many friends and family members. Linden and Carol then toured with the car to many national shows and events while earning a trove of awards for this efforts.
He will be deeply missed by all that new him. Survived by wife Carol; children Cathy Curtis (Shayne), Warren (Karen) and Daniel; grandchildren Dennis (Andrea) Drew and Brittney Plumedahl (Ryan); great-grandchildren Audri, Lia, Jacob, Maddy and Nash.
Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, September 24 in Lake City at First Lutheran Church. Visitation at 1 p.m., service at 2 p.m.
