Margaret Froyd Obituary

Margaret Froyd, 95, of Lake City, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at The Bluffs of Lake City.
    She was born on Feb. 24, 1921 to Margaret and Henry Damman in Lake City. Margaret graduated from Lincoln High School. She attended Winona State where she received her teaching degree and also a bachelor’s degree in library science. On June 20, 1943, Margaret married Kenneth Froyd in Jacksonville, Fla. They moved to Lake City where she worked as a librarian at Bluff View Elementary School. They owned and operated Froyd’s Dry Cleaning and Shoes until retiring in 1984. After retiring they enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Texas.
    Margaret was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
    Margaret is survived by her daughter, Kay (John) Cummins of Wabasha; son, Robert Froyd of Lake City; daughter-in-law, Liria Froyd of Rochester; seven grandchildren, Jake (Amy) Buysse, Kelvin (Kim) Hammes, Kris (Lisa) Hammes, Kenneth Froyd, Kurtis Froyd, A. J. Froyd, and Desiree Froyd; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Froyd; son, John Froyd; and her parents.
    A funeral service will be Friday, July 29, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran in Lake City  with Pastor John Berg officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City is in charge of the arrangements.
