Marlene Schuchard obituary

Marlene Ann Schuchard, 84, of Lake City, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center with her family by her side. She was born on February 9, 1941, in Millville, Minnesota to Francis and Emelia (Stephans) Prebe. Marlene was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. She graduated from Wabasha High School in 1959. On May 21, 1960, she married Stanley Schuchard at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City, celebrating 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2019, she was a lifetime resident of Wabasha County.
Marlene enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and especially loved baking cookies. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, she enjoyed going on trips to casinos, and bus trips. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Marlene was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church since 1969.
Marlene is survived by her loving children, James “Jim” (Doreen) Schuchard of Frontenac, and Jeff (Jennee) Schuchard of Red Wing; three grandchildren, Samantha, Travis, and Thomas; and five great-grandchildren, Darron, Leona, Travis, Makaya, and Draxton; one brother, Bob (Joan) Prebe of Helena, Mont.; three sisters, Mary Glander of Lake City, Darlene Domke of Plainview, and Joyce Scholer (Dave Richardson) of Lake City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Stanley; five sisters, Lorraine, Rosalee, Marcella, Vivian, and Deede; and two brothers, Don and Lavern.
The funeral service for Marlene will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 26, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel with Pastor Dale Kohrs officiating. The burial will follow the service in Bethany Cemetery in Lake City. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
