Mary Brinkman Obituary

Mary Joanne “Joey” Brinkman, 77, of Lake City passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City.
    She was born on July 15, 1938 in Crookston, Minn. to Willis and Drusilla (Hoeft) Rolsch. The family moved to Lyle, Minn. in 1944, then to Olivia, Minn. in 1945 and eventually settled in Zumbro Falls in 1948. Mary graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City. On Dec. 27, 1958 she married Ronald H. Brinkman in West Albany and lived all her married life in Lake City. She worked at Zero King from 1965 until 1982, as a hostess at Pirate’s Landing, and at Prairie Island Nuclear Plant and Treasure Island Casino in security.
    She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Beck, and granddaughter, Samantha Smith, both of Lake City; sister, Jackie Eischens of Zumbro Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron; son, Ricky; grandson, Ryan Brinkman; her parents Drusilla and Willis Rosch; and three brothers, Donald, Willis (Bud) and Edward Rolsch.
    A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 1 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Fr. Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
