Maurice Fricke obituary

Maurice “Bud” Fricke, 90, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Lake City Care Center.
    He was born March 7, 1931 in Hyde Park Township in Wabasha County, to Henry and Norma (Giese) Fricke.
    Bud married Marylyn Prescher in Elgin on October 14, 1951. The couple made their home in the Pine Island area until 1960 when they moved to Rochester. Bud served in the Army and was discharged in 1955. He worked at Rochester Dairy for many years until he purchased the Hollywood Cocktail Lounge on South Broadway in Rochester. In 1989, they sold the business and retired. They moved to Lake City in 1992 where they were a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. In their retirement they traveled all over the world.
    Bud is survived by four children, Ronald (Helen) of Holmen, Wis., Bonita (Mark) Taft of Scottsdale, Ariz., Thomas (Brenda) of Carrboro, N.C., Glenn (Susan) of LeCenter, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great great-grandson; brother-in-law, Wesley (Marian) Prescher of Elgin, Minn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marylyn; brother, Norbert; sister, Marian Springer.
    Funeral Service will be Friday, September 10, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Nathan Cordes officiating. Burial will be at Elgin Cemetery.
