Mildred Greive obituary

Mildred C. Greive, age 77, of Lake City, passed away Nov. 28, 2020 at the Lake City Care Center with her husband Chuck by her side.
Millie was born May 24, 1943 in Wabasha, Minn. to Bennie & Violet (Dascher) Ridgeway. Millie graduated from Wabasha High School. She married Charles Greive in 1963 at the Congregational Church in Wabasha. After they were married, they made their home in Lake City. She was a member of the Congregational Church in both Wabasha and Lake City, where she also volunteered as a Sunday school teacher. Millie worked as a typist for the Wabasha Herald and the Lake City Graphic before leaving to raise her family. As her children grew, Millie reentered the workforce and worked numerous jobs as a secretary, video store manager, and craft store proprietor, where she made and sold her own crafts. In addition to spending time crafting, Millie also loved writing. She captured and recorded stories from her mom and others that would have been lost had it not been for her desire to memorialize her family history and pass down a legacy. She also loved camping and playing horseshoes.
Millie was a beloved wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Chuck of Lake City; son, Barry (Julie) Greive of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; daughters Kim Clowry of Burnsville, Minn., and Shelly (Jim) Oswald of Cave Creek, Ariz.; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters, Madeline Kruger of Goddard, Kan., Christene Holstrom of Fairfax, Minn., and Linda Hoven of Tex. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Violet Calihan, Shirley Emanuele and an infant sister; four brothers, Ron, John, David and Bennie Ridgeway.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be placed at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
