Pauline Boeke obituary

Pauline Alice Boeke, 100, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Lake City Care Center.
She was born on January 17, 1923 in Sterling, Ill. to Loyal and Hazel (Matthew) Garrison. She graduated from Prophetstown, Ill. high school and received her RN degree from Freeport memorial Hospital in 1943. Pauline married her husband, Jack Boeke on December 4, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas. They returned to Freeport, Ill. and raised a family there till 1970 when they purchased Stone Acres Resort in Northern Minnesota which they operated for 15 years. “Best time of my life.” They retired in 1993 and moved to Lake City. Pauline was a good cook, but a great baker. Loved the outdoors, doing a lot of camping/RVing all over the US. She enjoyed hiking, golfing, antiques, chair caning, knitting, cats and cocktail hour.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Boeke of Maplewood, Minn.; two grandchildren, Johnathan (Norma) and Deborah; five great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Boeke; her son, Brian Boeke; her daughter, Cynthia; one sister; and three brothers.
Pauline has requested no service. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport, Ill. in the spring.
