Robert Endicott obituary

Robert Endicott, age 87 of Lake City, passed away on November 30, 2023 at Elysian Senior Homes in Lake City.
Robert (known to many as Bob) was born on December 26, 1935 in Evanston, Ill. to Frank and Edith (Franks) Endicott. Bob married Carol Shaw August 3, 1974 in Evanston, Ill. They moved to the Lake City area in 2001. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lake City.
Bob is survived by two sons, Mike (Jill) Endicott of Glenview, Ill., Rory (Rosana) Womack of San Diago, Calif.; four grandchildren Audrey, Nicolas, Caroline and Bree; and a sister, Judy Endicott of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol.
Bob grew up in Evanston, Ill. and attended Evanston Township High School. He attended college at DePauw University, DePaul University and later received an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. Bob completed his graduate degree in Dentistry from University of Illinois, Chicago. He was then commissioned in the Navy as a dental officer.
Following his discharge from the Navy, Bob started his own dentistry practice in Evanston, Ill. He had a successful practice until his retirement in early 2000, before he and Carol moved to Lake City.
Aside from being passionate about his work, Bob was also very passionate about his craft. He was extremely devoted to his artistic hobbies that consisted of woodworking and other mixed mediums. He was also an avid piano player and loved playing with or without an audience.
Bob’s life in Lake City was filled with friendships, church and community involvement, jamming with the ‘geezers’ and building a variety of life-sized creatures using his creative talent.
A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Redeeming Grace Community Church in Lake City with Rev. Phillip Schmidt officiating.
