Vernon Hinck Obituary
Vernon Edward Hinck, 85, of Lake City passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.
Vernon was born March 20, 1930 to Edward and Anna (Reese) Hinck. Vernon attended Gilbert Valley country school up to sixth grade and attended seventh and eighth grade at St. John’s Lutheran in Lake City where he was confirmed on May 21, 1944.
He married Delaine Klein Aug. 15, 1953 at St. Peter’s Belvidere Church where they have remained members. He served on various boards at church throughout the years. Vernon also drove milk and cattle truck for many years while farming on their Mt. Pleasant Township farm.
After retiring from farming and trucking, Vernon mowed lawn for Red Wing Country Club and Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. He also hauled fertilizer for Dill Elevator and Gerken’s Feed. Vernon was a past member of Lake City Lion’s Club.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Delaine; children, Harold, Donna Mae (Ron) Lange and Sharlene (John) Yorde; four grandchildren, Travis (Chrissy) Lange, Anna Mae Lange, Jason (Katie) Yorde and Steve Yorde; four great-granddaughters, Shelby, Bristol, Lilia and Liza. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond and infant sister, Jean.
Funeral service was Monday, Jan. 18 at St. Peter’s Belvidere Church in Goodhue with Rev Scott Fiege officiating. Burial was at St. Peter’s Belvidere Cemetery. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City handled arrangements. Pall bearers were Travis Lange, Jason Yorde, Steve Yorde, Anna Mae Lange, John Evers, Meryl Watson and John Hinck.
