Letter: More funding needed for tobacco cessation

To the editor:
Smoking costs Minnesotans more than $7 billion each year. But while the state collected more than $840 million last year in tobacco taxes and settlement fees, less than 1 percent was spent on tobacco prevention and cessation efforts. We need to invest more in tobacco prevention and cessation. The step we can take this year is funding statewide cessation services.
