Looking ahead: Goodhue County is paying more for mental healthcare
Goodhue County has experienced drastic cost increases because of the 2015 and 2016 legislative changes for counties to cover up to 100 percent of the costs at Anoka Metropolitan Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) and Community Behavior Health Hospitals (CBHH).
This is unsustainable, and shortsighted for having county taxpayers pay for the state’s strained mental health system.
In 2011 Goodhue County spent $32,911 on mental healthcare. In 2015, the cost was $270,207. Last year through September it was $761,111.
