Florence Township Notices - August 29
Notice to Florence Township residents: Many of you have asked us about the recent closure of the township’s compost/brush site at the south end of Van Blarcum Avenue in Old Frontenac. The site, which quickly fills up, has been closed because of lack of space, unauthorized burning and the rogue deposit of large, problematic materials. The Town Board is researching solutions, and will update the township website (florencetwp.org) if and when the site reopens. (As a side note, the Lake City and Red Wing compost sites have told us that they cannot take Florence Township brush and compost at this time.) Thank you for your patience on this matter. — Pamela Miller, town clerk.
