Notice of Public Hearing on Improvements - Block 15

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON IMPROVEMENTS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Lake City will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 205 West Center Street, Lake City, MN to consider making the following assessable improvements pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 429.011 to 429.111:

To improve the stormwater drainage in the alley of Block 15.  Said improvements include extending a 21” RCP storm sewer pipe from Highway 63 into the alley of Block 15 adding catch basins along the way to promote pipe captured drainage.  The alley will then be resurfaced using bituminous chips.

The areas proposed to be specially assessed for the cost of the improvement project consist of the following described properties:

All properties contained within Block 15, City of Lake City, according to the recorded plat thereof, County of Wabasha, State of Minnesota.  Block 15 is bounded by E. Lyon Avenue, S. Lakeshore Drive, E. Center Street, and S. Washington Street in downtown Lake City.

The estimated cost of the improvements is $94,138.  

A reasonable estimate of the impact of the assessment will be available at the hearing.  

Anyone wishing to be heard with reference to the proposed improvements will be heard at the meeting.  If you are unable to attend but wish to comment, you may submit a letter to  Scott Jensen, Public Works Director, 205 W.
