Retiring fire chief gets the ax

The Lake City Fire Department presented an ax plaque to its retiring chief, Jeff Diepenbrock. Diepenbrock is retiring after 23 years with the fire department. He’s been chief for just under five years. The department will have elections June 29 to fill vacated officer positions.
