‘Depolarizing Ourselves’ is focus of Nov. 20 Braver Angels event

Another event providing tools to help people communicate effectively and civilly when they disagree is coming to Lake City.

The Braver Angels workshop “Depolarizing Ourselves” will be Thursday, Nov. 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wild Wings Plaza, 2102 U.S. Hwy. 61.

“Civil discourse requires mutual respect,” a workshop overview reads. “Respect, not agreement, is an essential key for a healthy discussion. This workshop addresses how we may inadvertently be complicit in, or possibly even encourage, polarization.”
