‘Y-Knot Tri’ event aims to make history during 150th celebration

At the request of the historical society, a group of silent sport enthusiasts is organizing a triathlon in celebration of Lake City’s 150th Anniversary in 2022.

Ann Nibbe, the subcommittee liaison coined this inaugural event as “making history today.”

The family-oriented triathlon features a 2.5-mile kayaking section on Lake Pepin, a 14-mile bike section north of Lake City looping through old and new Frontenac, and closes with a 5K run south on the river walk.
