Applications sought for city council

Lake City City Councilmembers approved a process to fill the vacancy on the council created by Mary Lou Waltman’s resignation, but it wasn’t unanimous.
Waltman submitted a resignation letter on Jan. 11.
At a special meeting on Jan. 23, the council voted 4-2 to ask people interested in serving the remaining two years of the term to submit a city board and commission application and a letter of interest to the city clerk by Feb. 6 at 4:30 p.m.
