Arts group honors Ron Hunt

Ron Hunt had a message for the dozens of family, friends, fellow artists and well-wishers who turned out for an event in his honor Nov. 19.

“I’m here to advocate for art training at every level,” said Hunt, an artist, writer and entrepreneur who has traveled the world but for decades has called Lake City home.

He told the story of his development as a self-taught artist.

He didn’t have the opportunity to take art classes growing up in rural Dodge County, he said, but he picked up drawing and later painting.
