Big friends inspire story for little ones

Some time ago during a sermon, First Lutheran Church Pastor Tim Ehling shared the story of an elderly man who befriended a child.
“The little boy asked the man: ‘Will you be my big friend?’” Laura Fitterer said.
The story inspired Fitterer’s five children.
“They just ran with it,” she said. “They chose people from the church, people from the community that they thought fit that bill and they began talking about their big friends all the time.”
