Big year means a bigger Water Ski Days

The Lake City Chamber of Commerce is going big on Water Ski Days this year.

Lake City is celebrating its 150th year, it’s been just days under 100 years since Ralph Samuelson invented the sport that gave the festival its name, and Water Ski Days itself is celebrating its 50th occurrence since its debut in 1972.

There’s so much to this year’s festival that they added a whole day. Water Ski Days officially begins Thursday with music by Connie and Dan and the Jorgenson’s at the beer tent.

The carnival starts Thursday, too.
