Coaches vs. Cancer honors coach battling cancer
Lake City teacher and long-time coach Kim Bobb is the honoree of this year’s Lake City girls’ basketball Coaches vs. Cancer event on Friday, Dec. 21.
The event is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” campaign.
Bobb was diagnosed with breast cancer on May 1, a few weeks after discovering a lump, according to a first-person narrative she provided to organizers.
She had a lumpectomy this summer and completed radiation therapy on Sept. 19.
