Corn shocked as Corn Shredding Autumn Days festival nears
Volunteers were out shocking corn recently at the Dwain and Marilyn Gerken farm near Oak Center in the run-up to the Corn Shredding Autumn Harvest Days festival planned for Sept. 28-29.
“The Corn Shredding Autumn Harvest Days Group is composed of many people, from every age group with different backgrounds, both rural and urban,” the event web page reads. “We enjoy preserving history by bringing old farm equipment to life and sharing what rural life used to be like with the guests.”
