Crowd gathers to hear Prairie Street Jazz perform

Over a hundred people turned out at Ohuta Park Saturday to hear a performance by Prairie Street Jazz.

The group features Lincoln High School students, faculty, and community members. Its set included jazz classics like “Sing, Sing, Sing” along with more contemporary jazz and funk tunes.

Bandleader, bassist, and Lincoln High School band teacher Eric Stashek told the audience the band formed after some jazz band students told him they were looking for an opportunity to keep playing the style over the summer.
