Fireworks set for the Fourth

Fireworks over Lake Pepin will mark the celebration of the nation’s independence from Great Britain in Lake City on July 4. Michelle Larson of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce, which is organizing the display, said it usually begins shortly after 10 p.m.

The show will be similar in size to those in years past, but costs have increased 30 percent, a change Larson attributed to tarriffs on the fireworks themselves.
