Goats are back to graze on foliage at Frontenac State Park.
Park Manager Jake Gaster said the goats are “part of our prescribed rotational goat grazing project, which is happening in 54 acres in the western area of the park.
“The goal of the project is to reduce the density of woody shrubs in bluff prairie and oak woodland communities. The primary vegetation targeted for removal includes buckthorn, prickly ash, honeysuckle, dogwood, sumac, raspberries, and ninebark.
