Heffernan fire department raffle donation more valuable this year

In yet another sign that summer is nearly here, a car that will be raffled off to raise money for the Lake City Fire Department has gone on display at the Lake City Fire Hall.

It’s become an annual tradition for Tom Heffernan Ford to donate a vehicle as the grand prize in the department’s Fireman’s Dance raffle.

Tom Heffernan, who owns the auto dealership, estimates he’s donated over $200,000 worth of vehicles to fire department raffles over the decades.
