We regret to inform you of the tragic loss of life of Marshal Bradley Rodgers that occurred in July of 1892 as a result of a citizen’s mental health crisis. Marshal Rodgers left behind a wife and young son and a legacy of respected law enforcement officers in Lake City.
Sgt. Bill Wiest of the Lake City Police Department (LCPD) shared his research into the life of Marshal Rodgers at this week’s Open Hours Event at the Lake City Historical Society. Sgt. Wiest’s interest in history began at a young age and he continues to research family and local history.
