Fishing contests and more will lure people outdoors for winter fun around the area in the coming weeks.

Sportsman’s Club fishing contest
Frontenac Sportsman’s Club’s annual ice fishing contest and fundraiser will be Saturday, Feb. 8, on Frontenac Pond.
The fishing contest runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There’s a $10 entry fee. A free fishing contest for ages 15 and under with prizes will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The event promises games, food, and hundreds of door prizes.
