'Kick it for Katie' honors Tiger dancer

Katie Goihl’s teammates on the Lake City High School dance team have been dancing for her all season long.

“The girls always say, if you don’t have anyone to dance for, do it for Katie,” Coach Ashley Otterson said. “She is watching over us.”

Goihl died on June 11 of last year, just days after being diagnosed with leukemia. She was 15.

It’s been difficult for the team to dance without their teammate and friend, Otterson said. Several of her teammates were close friends who had grown up with Goihl.
