Kruger recycles, animals benefit
Kathy Kruger loves animals. She approached the Hiawatha Animal Humane Society (HAHS) with the idea of collecting used toner cartridges as a fundraiser in early 2005.
Until then she had been helping by doing volunteer work with the animals, but realized that she couldn’t take in any more pets and decided that fundraising another way she could support the local humane society.
The cartridge recycling program has been a one-woman fundraiser since 2005. Since that time, the project has generated over $10,000 in revenue for the HAHS.
