Lake City on display for Governor’s Fishing Opener

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, and U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar were some of the dignitaries to make an appearance in Lake City last week as the city hosted the Governor’s Fishing Opener for the first time since 1981.
The three-day event celebrated the beginning of walleye fishing season in the state, as well as the state’s fishing, outdoors, and tourism industry, with particular attention paid to the host community.
