More than 450 sail for leukemia fundraiser
Sunny skies, warm temperatures, perfect wind on Saturday and a little rain on Sunday the weekend of July 27 and 28 brought 450 visitors to Lake City to participate in and support the 23rd annual Sail for Leukemia, according to the Lake City Yacht Club.
115 Volunteers worked to raise over $15,000, with more contributions coming in.
There were more than 450 guests who took the opportunity to take a sail and support raising money to find a cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma. 375 of the guests were from outside the local area, the club said.
