Lake City Public Schools held its final summer food distribution event last Thursday.
Every week, families with children age 18 and under could stop by Bluff View Elementary School to pick up a week’s worth of breakfasts and lunches for each child.
Lake City Public Schools Supt. Erick Enger said the school district distributed more than 54,000 meals over the summer.
Funding for the meals came from a federal program as part of the government’s COVID-19 response.
