Pumpkin carving fest to let families carve pumpkins without the mess

Do your kids want to carve pumpkins, but you don’t want to deal with the mess? Lake City Environmental Learning Program (ELP) is holding a free Pumpkin Carving Fest this Sunday, Oct. 26, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Lake City Sportsman’s Club.

Lake City ELP will provide carving tools, design ideas, paints, cookies, and music! Families of all ages are invited to come join in. Along with carving or decorating a pumpkin, kids can learn about how pumpkin scraps will be used to feed chickens and goats, as well as used to make compost for gardens.
