Rol advances to state, team ties for third in section speech
The Lake City High School speech team ended its season on Saturday with a tie with Fillmore Central for third place in Section 1A. With a slightly smaller team this year, Lake City brought 19 students to sub-sections on April 1. Through three tough rounds of competition, rooms with rabbits and very small chairs, and a late night, 10 students emerged to advance to sections and fight another day.
“The team this year was energetic, devoted to each other, and dedicated to speech,” Coach Anna Karsten said.
