Seven brothers, seven members of the U.S. armed forces

With Veterans Day approaching, Lake City resident Bill Ogle’s thoughts turn to his brother George, a Marine who was killed in the amphibious assault on Iwo Jima in 1944.

And Raymond, who served in the Army during the Korean war. Then there’s Patrick, who did the same. James, who was in the Navy. Gene, the Army. And finally, Michael, whose stint in the Navy overlapped with the start of the war in Vietnam.

Seven Ogle brothers from Madelia, Minn., seven enlisted men in the U.S. armed forces.

Bill himself was in the Navy from 1952-6.
