Speaker: If you see a vet in need, say something

“If you see something, say something,” became the slogan for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security following 9/11 as it urged the public to report suspicious activity that could be related to terrorism.

During the keynote address at the Lincoln High School Veterans Day program, Lt. Cmdr. Greg Cady of Red Wing urged the audience to be on the lookout for something else: veterans, service members (or their families) in need.

“Veterans expect nothing,” he said. “When they’re in need, how do you think they ask for help? They don’t ask.”
