Student flag art takes 3rd in state auxiliary contest
The Lake City VFW Auxiliary 8729 sponsored a patriotic art contest for sixth grade students at Bluff View Elementary in April.
The theme was “So proudly we hail, the history of the United States flag.”
Riley Forbes won first place.
His art advanced to the first district competition, which it also won, and finally to the Department of Minnesota VFW Auxiliary competition, where it placed third.
Forbes received a certificate and $100.
He supplemented his art work with the following description:
