Student-grown plants go on sale
Months of work by the students in Haely Leiding’s plant science class at Lincoln High School culminate May 1, 2, 3, with the sale of the flower, herb, and vegetable plants they’ve been growing.
Seniors Antoni Baltazar and Reese Heins and junior Addison Cichosz helped lead the effort to cultivate about 3,000 plants for sale.
They said coming to work in the greenhouse, which is located behind the tennis courts on Prairie Street and climate controlled to stay between 60 degrees and 80 degrees, is a nice change of pace during the school day.
