Summit will cover new state laws governing waterway buffers

In 2015, the state enacted a new law requiring perennial vegetated buffers along waterways. The buffers are designed to keep soil and farm fertilizers out of streams, rivers and othe public waterways.
The Zumbro Watershed Buffer Summit aims to answer questions landowners may have about the new law, its effect on them and on clean water in Minnesota. It will be Thursday, March 24, 6:30-8:00 pm at the Mazeppa Community Center, 121 Maple Street, Mazeppa.
